Kyomachiya Yoga
While other classes are in the boutique studio on Takoyakushi-dori, with a maximum of 4 mats, these classes take place in a traditional Kyoto terrace house located 5 minutes’ walk from Marutamachi subway station with a maximum of 8 mats available.
As you walk in the smell of the tatami starts the relaxation process. Depending on the day, the class content will be different but work from a base of Hatha Yoga.
Yoga mats and blocks are provided. There is a room to get changed in as well.
Yoga styles
Move More Easily
These Hatha Yoga-based classes are gentle on your body while building strength, flexibility and range of motion. Morning classes are more invigorating to help you into your day. Evening classes more relaxing to help prepare your body for sleep.
Poses vary from 1 breath to a couple of minutes, allowing you time to settle in, adjust and find the best version of the pose for your body. Variations are offered to allow you to adapt the class to your needs on any given day.
Release More Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga poses are held for up to 5 minutes, stretching the fascia, the wrap-like material, around each muscle. Using blocks, bolsters and blankets to make sure we are comfortably uncomfortable, the focus is on releasing any tight areas in this fascia along the meridians of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
These classes are great for people who have been stiff for a long time and have some experience with yoga.
Complete Reset Restorative
In an age of glorified busyness, Restorative Yoga is our most luxurious class. Be completely pampered as you relax completely. Poses are held for 15-25 minutes.
With no stretch, no effort, completely supported by bolsters, blocks and blankets, feel as though you are floating. Notice the tension slip away from your muscles, the busyness slip away from your mind, as you settle into the stillness, the calm, the quiet, and your cortisol drops. After class, feel your energy and creativity return.
Suitable for all levels.
More “you” Yoga
This class is more like a mini workshop. Each class we’ll look at a few different poses in more detail and really work towards building your comfortable place within that pose, providing more confidence to work with your body rather than against it and find “Your Yoga” - the best way for your body to move, and maintain stillness depending on the situation.

if you are new to Momoyoga, you will be asked to register first, activate the account through the email from Momoyoga, then you need to go to ‘classes’ to book buy a product (class pass) and book the class.
My apologies but there have been some issues with Momoyoga bookings, so if you are new to the studio, please email Sam at MindfullyMoreJapan@gmail.com to book your spot if it doesn't work.
